Ulysse Martel, born in Toulon, France graduated in Cabinet Making from the École Boulle in Paris focused on historical crafts from oil paintings to marquetry. Their paths crossed in Lausanne, Switzerland at the ECAL where they both obtained their Master Degrees in Product Design with mentions. After a residency in Hong Kong for Ulysse and Internships in Barcelona and Zürich for Miloš they both started teaching at the ECAL in Lausanne as junior lecturers at the Master of Advanced Studies in Design for Luxury & Craftsmanship. Their contrasting interests between the crafted and the industrial - between the archaic and the futuristic - culminate in their common interest in performance materials and lead to unexpected collaborations.
